About The Role

Founded in 1910 Scudamore's is Cambridge's premier punt tour and boat hire company. We're looking for customer-focused and reliable people with excellent communication skills to join our friendly team. As full training will be given, previous experience of punting is not required.


What's involved?

As a Cashier at Scudamore’s your duties will be varied, but ultimately it is really about 5 things:

•       Operating a welcoming, efficient and high quality information and ticketing service.

•       Hosting and assisting our visitors, ensuring they feel looked after and valued.

•       Maintaining a safe working environment for all, both on station and on the water.

•       Bringing a high level of accuracy and security to money handling and station


•       In sum, providing an unforgettable experience for all of our customers.

About You

•       You are physically active and enjoy the outdoors.


What would also help?

•       Previous experience in hospitality, retail or tourism.

•       Prior experience of working in a customer-facing role.

•       A good knowledge of Cambridge.

•       Fluency in another language.

•       Good availability to work on weekends, bank holidays and school holidays.

Need to know

Special demands of the role

This role is physically demanding and requires you to remain on your feet throughout the working day. There will also be a need to move boat stock, which requires good balance and an appropriate level of fitness. Please note, as with all of the other criteria above, these requirements may be tested at interview.
