About The Role

Founded in 1910, Scudamore's is Cambridge's premier punt tour and boat hire company. As we start to prepare for our busy Autumn and Winter season, we are now looking for customer-focused and reliable people with excellent communication skills to join our friendly team of Cashiers and Station staff.

As full training will be given, previous experience is not necessary, though previous experience in a customer-facing role would be advantageous.

What is involved?

As a Boathand here at Scudamore’s, your duties will be varied, but your role will primarily involve acting as an ambassador for Scudamore’s, by being well-presented at all times and offering a warm, open and helpful welcome to all visitors. Ultimately, however, it is about the following:

  • Welcoming and assisting visitors.
  • Ensuring that all areas of the punt station are presented to the highest standards, with the boat stock kept clean, presentable, ready and suitable for customer use.
  • Assisting with the efficient, courteous, and timely embarkation and disembarkation of tour and punt hire customers.
  • Offering instruction and safety advice to tour and punt hire customers.
  • Moving boat stock around the station.
  • Reporting and recording all accidents, incidents or safety concerns to Management. This includes relaying customer feedback.
