What availability do I need?
This is entirely up to you! We’re open 12 months of the year and offer both full-time and part-time hours. Some of our staff work full-time all year round, whilst others with family, study or other job commitments come to us mainly at weekends or during holiday periods.
Our training process
Our approach to training is unique to us and is the gold standard for visitor attractions in Cambridge. Structured as a 1-week paid immersive course, we combine on-site classroom learning with practical sessions on the river and further opportunities for self-practice.
Special demands of the role
This role is physically demanding and requires you to remain on your feet throughout the working day in various weather conditions. In addition, the punting element requires good balance and an appropriate level of fitness. Please note, as with all of the other criteria above, these requirements may be tested at interview.
Need to know
We operate an equal opportunities policy and recruit only on the basis of work criteria and individual merit. By law we are required to ensure that anyone taking up employment at Scudamore's has a legal right to work in the UK and you will be required to demonstrate this.
